The Republican refusal to sign on to even the most conservative Democratic proposals for health care reform my result in a much more liberal bill, even one with a public option, being adopted. Liberal Democrats are now arguing that since a bi-partisan bill now seems to be impossible there is no reason for concessions to Republicans and Democrats should just draft a bill with what they like.
